Religious Education

The wide range of topics allows pupils to gain a deep appreciation of the beliefs of others. Areas studied will include Christianity, other world religions and non-religious stances for living.

Religious observances take place regularly at all schools, largely through school assemblies. These may include aspects of religious festivals and celebrations from a variety of traditions, reflecting the range of cultural backgrounds within the community.

Religious and moral education is a statutory part of the curriculum in both non-denominational and Roman Catholic schools. As a parent, you have the right to withdraw your child from lessons or assemblies if you find there will be a conflict with your beliefs.
